Welcome back to week 7 of Inspiration vs Reality (IvsR Wk7) where I’m taking a makeup look created by one of the artists that I follow on Instagram and doing my best to replicate it on my 57 yr old face. I don’t buy any additional products; I just use what I have in my makeup arsenal already.
For this week’s look, I felt, like the weather, more spring-y. So I turned to the perpetual light & pretty diva, Cher Webb. Her look is simple, bright and screams spring (in a non-aggressive way, of course). This one was REALLY in my wheelhouse; a look that is easy to achieve and something that I would be inclined to wear on my own.
Like always, and what I love most about doing these, there is a bit of a twist… an application that I wouldn’t have otherwise thought of but looks GREAT. This week, it’s using blush as an accent colour on the eyes; GORGEOUS!
Cher uses an Urban Decay palette in her tutorial and I pulled out my Christian Dior palette. Once again, this product is no longer available but a beautiful replacement would be the Christian Dior 5 Couleurs Couture palette in Plum Tulle; the colours are really close to the palette I used.
IvsR Wk7 Takeaways:
I REALLY love this look! I’ve always been a big fan of lavender eyes, especially back in the good old days when I could get to a salon and have my locks tinted to their most glorious copper shades. But it’s just as lovely with my dark hair now. I used fewer products that usual and the application was super fast; check and CHECK! It’s an easy, every day look that reminds us that spring is here and brighter days are coming.
Love, love, love!
Let me know what you think. Always happy to dish!
