It took a while but here we go with my follow-up post to last week’s Morning Routine where I shared the products I use each AM. Skincare after 50 requires special treatment and care; although my products often change, this is what I’m using now and I couldn’t be happier. I’ll quickly remind you that my skin is dry and so some of these items may be too rich if you don’t have issues with tightness or dryness after you cleanse your skin. And, as with the Morning Routine post, my disclaimer remains… No judgement!
My evening routine uses just as many products that the morning one. As with the AM routine, each serves a purpose. The focus at night; get rid of the dead stuff that dulls the skin, do whatever possible to reverse/slow damage already done and give my skin the moisture it needs while it’s resting and rejuvenating overnight.
Here we go…
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil – I love a good cleansing oil to start my evening routine because they are great for melting away any traces of makeup. This one is particularly wonderful because it’s lightweight, smells lovely and doesn’t irritate my eyes
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser – I meant it when I said no matter what, it’s always in my routine. I find that cleaning the oil from my face leaves it better prepped for the next steps in my routine.
Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Essence – essentially a toner; this one appears in the AM routine too because, as I mentioned I really think everything else after this is absorbed more completely than when I don’t use it
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Frambroos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum – AHA/BHA is a key ingredient for improving skin tone by clearing away dead cells; this is a mild dose of it and gentle enough to use daily (at least for me).
L’Oreal Revitalift Overnight Mask – Retinol based night cream to address those inevitable lines and wrinkles
L’Oreal Revitalift Eye – ditto above for around the eyes.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – it feels like this seals everything in and I can tell you my skin STILL feels soft and moisturized in the morning; LOVE!
That’s all, folks… I know I know; it does sound like a lot but I have to do SOMETHING to address all those years in my teens & 20’s when I’d slather on BABY OIL before heading out for a day in the sun! Admit it; I know I’m NOT the only one!
What are your can’t-live-without skincare after 50 night products?
