Morning Skincare Routine (no judgement)

Last night I joined my girlfriends for our weekly video catch up. We got to talking about our skincare routines and how they’ve changed over time. I think they would probably agree that of the three of us, I definitely play around with my products the most; always have. After talking about the changes in our skincare after 50 routines, we started comparing what we now use morning and night.

Of the three of us, I’m the eldest and certainly have the driest skin. Because of that, my products are all focused on reducing that dryness as well as hopefully minimizing the affects of time. I promised to share my routine with them and I thought I’d share with you as well.

Skincare After 50

My disclaimer to them (and you) right from the start? No judgement!

I use a LOT of products. Each serves a purpose and I use different products in the morning vs evening. I’m not “married” to many of the items I’ll be sharing today but I will note the ones that no matter what, you’ll always find on my side of the bathroom vanity. I’ll be doing two posts on this, starting with my morning skincare routine; my evening routine will come later.

Here we go…

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser – no matter what, it’s always in my routine. Drugstore find, not expensive, gentle and it WORKS without drying out my skin.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Essence – essentially a toner; not tied down to this one but it really feels like everything else after this is absorbed more completely than when I don’t use it. Alternates that I’ve used and also would buy again, Kiehl’s Daily Refining Milk-Peel toner as well as Fresh Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Toner; both great.

Murad Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum – Vitamin C to brighten and reduce dark spots.

Kiehl’s Vitamin C Eye Serum – non-irritating Vitamin C for under-eye area; feels GREAT on… this is a keeper! I use it day and night. If you have bags under your eyes like I do, this is a must-have!

Kiehl’s Multi-Corrective Cream – again, this just feels GREAT on and just soaks in beautifully; the fact that it has so many ingredients to fight the signs of aging is a bonus.

Bobby Brown Extra Repair Eye Cream – VERY rich; skip this if you don’t feel your eyes need the extra attention but I sure do!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – it says it’s for night but I use it in the morning too and then do a quick facial massage to TRY to stimulate collagen production and start the day with some pampering.

Missing is sunscreen which I use if I’m going outside but that’s situational and since we’re still in LOCKDOWN (ugh) I’m using a LOT less. That’s it (I know is that ALL?! HA!). I know it sounds like a lot but my skin has never felt better so I figure I’m doing something right.

What are your can’t-live-without skincare after 50 products?
